Bluish-white on the adult front body, black rear of body.

Size : 14 cm

Habitat : Prefers clear lagoons and outer reef slopes, 2-25 m. Usually in pairs and encountered up to two metres above the seabed. On approach, tends to swim away instead of fleeing into its burrow. Feeds on zooplankton. Juveniles in groups.

Distribution : Red Sea and East Africa to SW Japan, Micronesia, SE Australia and French Polynesia.
