BALIWILDLIFE.COM IS ALL ABOUT EDUCATION

Baliwildlife.com founder David Lowenthal first came to Bali in 1982. He was immediately struck by the extraordinary beauty of the island’s topography, the stunning fauna and flora combined with the wonderful traditional Hindu island’s inhabitants who are warm, modest, welcoming and in tune with the Natural World.

In 2007 David started to photograph and document the wildlife in Bali. This became a passion and he soon accumulated thousands of photos while discovering more and more about the rich wild life of Bali. It was from this that The baliwildlife.com website was created in 2012.

David had found it extremely difficult to find books of the Natural World in Bali and for that matter in the rest of Indonesia too. Those he did find were expensive, so he created the website primarily to create a free easy to access Encyclopaedia in Bahasa Indonesian and English of the natural world in Bali. This would make it easier for schools, universities and wildlife lovers to access a detailed resource to learn from. The hope was this would stimulate interest in the Natural World and encourage particularly the young generation to protect their extraordinary fauna and flora.

The website is a collaboration between I Wayan Gunada and David with Wayan taking the lead with all technical aspects. His valuable in depth experience with baliwildlife.com has spanned 12 years.
