Spottail Dartfish

Ptereleotris heteroptera

Light greenish-blue. Yellow tail with black spot.

Size : 12 cm

Habitat : Inhabits lagoons and outreefs, 7-46 m. Alone, adults often in pairs, Juveniles in groups. Above sand and rubble. Swims to about 3 m above the seabed, feeds on zooplankton.

Distribution : Red Sea and East Africa to SW Japan, Micronesia, SE Australia and French Polynesia.
