Purple Queenfish

Mirolabrichthys tuka

Male: crimson spot at the back of the dorsal fin. Female: orange-yellow back stripe to upper end of the caudal fin. Lower tail lobe edge is similar colored.

Size : 9.5 cm

Habitat : At outer reef slopes, 2-40 m. In schools to about 3 m above the reef feeding on plankton. Also feeds on fish eggs.

Distribution : Indonesia to SW Japan, Palau, Vanuatu and GBR.
