Hemipus hirundinaceus

Description

Hemipus hirundinaceus is a bird of the genus Hemipus with black wings and has a length of about 15 cm. Its characteristics are dark brown eyes, and black beak. The chin and upper throat and abdomen are white, while the lower throat and chest are gull-grey. The head and upper part of the male are black, have a green sheen. The top of the female is sooty brown, not black. Leg feathers are dark gray and legs are black. The rump has a black and white trunk, and a black tail. Juveniles have a brownish black beak and a sooty brown top with buff edges.
