Description

The breeding season for this species varies in the southern part of the range, the breeding season is usually from February or March to early to mid-September, although some second and third broods finish in October. In Europe, females perform almost all of the incubation process, but in North America males can incubate up to 25% of the time of incubation. The incubation period is usually 14-19 days and the chicks mature 18-23 days after hatching. Mature young live together, and are fed by the mother for about a week after leaving the nest.
