Mating Habits

These frogs mate in ponds, watery ditches, on full moon nights. Male frogs make loud noises before and after the rain to call the female. During the mating season, several pairs are usually found in the pond. There is often intense physical competition between male toads for the female, so the male will tightly hug the female’s back during the mating procession.
