Scalloped Hammerhead

Sphyrna lewini

Forehead edge slightly curved with indentation in the middle.

Size : 400 cm

Habitat : On continental slopes, underwater ridges and steep reef slopes of offshore islands, 1-275 m. Predominantly feeds on fish, especially stingrays. Usually not aggressive. Can show threat behaviour, attacks on humans are not confirmed.

Distribution : Circumtropical.
