Tubelip Wrasse

Labrichthys unilineatus

Thick, fleshy lips. Greenish with light, broad vertical stripe behind head.
The initial phase is black with a white horizontal line. Like the adults, they are also already very agile and tireless swimmers.

Size : 17 cm

Habitat : Inhabits coral-rich, protected reefs, 1-20 m. Swims constantly between the coral. Feeds on coral polyps, especially on branched forms such as Acropora coral, where it sill also withdraw when disturbed.

Distribution : East Africa to SW Japan, Micronesia, Samoa and Australia.
