Spot-tail Wrasse

Coris caudimacula

Whitish with olive=reddish brown, rectangular parches on upper body half, colouration is pale to vivid.

Size : 20 cm

Habitat : In lagoons, bays and protected outreefs, 2-25 m. Prefers to be above sand and rubble near corals. Alone and always near the bottom. Feeds on hard-shelled bottom-dwellers. Often accompanied by other fish when foraging.

Distribution : Red Sea, East Africa and Golf of Oman to Bali and NW Australia.
