Green Bird Wrasse

Gomphosus caeruleus

Characteristic tube snout. Similar to G. various, but with different colouration.
Male (TP) colored dark blue and is a loner, female (IP) is yellowish-brown on the belly and usually swims in small groups.

Size : 28 cm

Habitat : Inhabits coral-rich lagoons, bay and outreefs, Not uncommon but shy and an agile, rapid swimmer. Feeds on small invertebrates, can also pick them up from branch coral and narrow crevices with its long narrow snout.

Distribution : Red Sea to Mauritius, South Africa, Oman and Andaman Sea.
