Complex pattern, colouration variable.

Size : 12 cm

Habitat : In rock and coral reefs, 1-40 m. Shy, always close to the seabed, also on surfaces overgrown with algae and in the vicinity of hiding places. It is therefore frequently overlooked despite being common. Feeds on invertebrate bottom-dwellers.

Distribution : Red Sea, S Oman and East Africa to S Japan, Solomons and East Australia.
