Broomtail Wrasse

Ragged caudal fin. Yellow, dark-edged spot on gill lid. Yellow pectoral fin.

Size : 50 cm

Habitat : Usually at coral-rich reef edges above areas with sand and rubble patches, 0.5-30 m. Cautious, shy species. Predominantly feeds on bottom-dwelling invertebrates such as crustaceans, mussels and snails.

Distribution : Red Sea and Gulf of Aden.
