Bluespotted Wrasse

Anampses caeruleopunctatus

TP with yellow-green stripes on the front of the body, IP with horizontal rows of small blue dots.

Size : 42 cm

Habitat : Denizens of clear outreefs, 1-30 m. Usually in upper areas. Feeds on small invertebrates, britleworms and molluscs. Male alone and territorial. Female in loose harem groups. At night, burrows into sandy soil.

Distribution : Red Sea and East Africa to S Japan, Line Islands, French Polynesia and Easter Islands.
