Whitish tips of dorsal and anal fins.

Size : 200 cm

Habitat : In deep lagoons, reef channels and at outreefs, 1-100 m. Alone or in small loose groups, patrolling in the open water along reef slopes. Fast hunting fish, especially of fusiliers and other plankton-feeding fish in open water. Occasionally swims curiously past divers. Probably the most common tuna species sighted along coral reefs.

Distribution : Red Sea, Gulf of Oman and East Africa to SW Japan, Micronesia, New Caledonia and French Polynesia.
