Malacanthus latovittatus

Blue head. Black side stripe.

Size : 50 cm

Habitat : On san and rubble of lagoons, patch reefs and outreefs, 5-70 m. Usually a short distance above the bottom. Very shy, keeps its distance from divers. Adult in monogamous pairs.

Distribution : Red Sea, East Africa to SW Japan, Micronesia and Cook Islands.
