Oblique-bar Monocle Bream

Scolopsis xenochrous

Short blue, dark-edged diagonal stripes above the pectoral fin. Blue slash at edge of the upper eye.

Size : 25 cm

Habitat : Inhabits lagoons, coastal reefs and out reefs far from the coast, 5-50 m. Alone or in loose groups above sand and rubble. Feeds on invertebrate bottom-dwellers.

Distribution : The Maldives and Andaman Sea to Taiwan, Australia and Solomons.
