Golden Sweeper

Parapriacanthus ransonneti

Head yellowish green. Body translucent, light brown grey.

Size : 10 cm

Habitat : In lagoons, bays and protected areas of out reefs, 0.5-40 m. Not shy. During the day in dense, stationary shoal, usually below overhangs, in cavities or crevices. At night alone, feeds on zooplankton above the reef.

Distribution : Red Sea to South Africa, Gulf of Oman, SW Japan, Marshall-Islands, New Caledonia, Fiji.
