Caudal fin straw yellow to dark brown and without dots.
Size : 40 cm
Habitat : In deep lagoons and semi-protected outreefs, 1-40 m. Juveniles with enlarged dorsal and anal fin, yellowish colouration with light and dark vertical stripes and transparent caudal fin.
Distribution : Christmas Islands and Malaysia to SW Japan, Hawaii and French Polynesia.
