Ctenochaetus striatus

Very fine horizontal stripes, brow region with small orange spots.

Size : 26 cm

Habitat : In lagoons and outreefs, 1-30 m. Alone or in groups. Grazes off sand and hard grounds on blue and diatom algae, is thereby frequently ciguatoxic.

Distribution : Red Sea to South Africa, SW Japan, Micronesia and French Polynesia.
