Dark Surgeonfish

Acanthurus blochii

Small, orange-yellow spot to the rear of the eye, tail base usually with white ring, caudal fin blue.

Size : 45 cm

Habitat : Inhabits lagoons and outreefs usually by 2-15 m. Swims alone or in small groups and grazes on algae growth on rock, dead coral and other firm substrates.

Distribution : East Africa to SW Japan, Marshall Islands, Hawaii and French Polynesia.
