Moses’ Snapper

Lutjanus russellii

Five bronze-colored stripes, which slope upwards near the top of the back. Usually with a large black spot at the rear of the body.

Size : 30 cm

Habitat : Inhabits rock and coral reefs, 3-80 m. Alone or in groups. Juvenile in mangroves and estuaries.

Distribution : Red Sea and East Africa to SW Japan, SE Australia and Fiji.
