Ehrenberg’s Snapper

Lutjanus ehrenbergii

Five yellow, narrow, low-contrast horizontal stripes. Large black spot on the horizontal line in the rear body area.

Size : 35 cm

Habitat : Prefers bays and coastal reefs, 3-20 m. Usually in schools, not shy. Also in rock reefs, and juveniles especially in estuaries and mangrove regions.

Distribution : Red Sea, Oman and East Africa to SW Japan, Caroline Islands, the Moluccas and GBR.
