Bigeye Snapper

Lutjanus lutjanus

A relatively large eye. Yellow to tawny stripes behind eye along the tail.

Size : 30 cm

Habitat : In bays and semi-protected outer reef slopes, 5-90 m. During the day usually in large, dense shoals. Goes alone in search of food at night.

Distribution : Red Sea and East Africa to SW Japan, GBR and Solomons.
