Tassled Scorpionfish

Scorpaenopsis oxycephalus

Numerous skin tassels on the head and chin. Relatively long snout.

Size : 36 cm

Habitat : Inhabits lagoons, bays and outer reefs, 1-43 m. Usually rest on a hard bottom surface of living coral, rubble, rock and on sponges. Usually in coral-rich reefs with clear water. Common species.

Distribution : Red Sea and East Africa to Taiwan, Palau and Indonesia.
