Very high-contrast pattern of white and black-brown patches. An indistinct eyespot on the upper back of the head.

Size : 25 cm

Habitat : In lagoons and protected outreefs, 5-25 m. Inhabits sand and rubble near the reef.

Distribution : India (Gulf of Bengal) and Andaman Sea to S Japan, Palau and PNG.
