Foxface

Siganus vulpinus

Head with black-white “fox face”. Rest of body solid yellow. Similar to S. unimaculatus but with the addition of a large, black spot on the side.

Size : 24 cm

Habitat : Inhabits coral-rich lagoons and outreefs, 2-30 m. Juveniles often seek protection between the branches of horn corals (Acropora species). Adults swim in pairs.

Distribution : Sumatra to Taiwan, Gilbert Islands, GBR and New Caledonia.
