Spotfin Burrfish

Chilomycterus reticulatus

Light brown with dispersed dark spots on body and fin. Short rigid barbs.

Size : 70 cm

Habitat : Lives in shallow, protected zones at exposed outer reef slopes in coral and rock reef, 1-141 m. During the day usually in a hiding place. Juveniles are pelagic.

Distribution : Circumglobal in tropics and subtropics, is however absent in the Red Sea, Central Pacific and Caribbean.
