Weedy Pygmy Seahorse

Hippocampus pontohi

Greenish to yellow-orange. Mostly solid color throughout. Frequently whitish on the head, back, neck and abdomen. Small, flashy-reddish appendages on the back.

Size : to 1.7 cm

Habitat : Often in protected micro-location in current-exposed regions, also at steep slopes, 5-25 m. Frequently on Hydrozoa (Aglaophenia sp.), between algae and small sea squirts. Often in pairs.

Distribution : Eastern Indonesia.
