Hippocampus comes

Yellow, black or grey with about 15 cross bands primarily on the tail which are distinctive in places and less in others. Yellow specimens with dark to black bands. Male often black with yellow bands.

Size : 19 cm

Habitat : In protected reef areas and bays, 2-20 m. Usually above 10 m, Frequently between coral, branched sponges or large seagrass. Alone or in pairs. Probably predominantly nocturnal, feeds on zooplankton.

Distribution : Thailand and Malaysia to Indonesia, the Philippines and Vietnam.
