Bentstick Pipefish

Trachyrhamphus bicoarctatus

Conspicuously large species, different colouration: white, greenish, yellow, brown.

Size : 40 cm

Habitat : Inhabits san, mud and rubble in protected coastal reefs, 3-25 m. Usually lies on the seabed with only the hindmost body area up and the front of its body and head raised.

Distribution : Red Sea and East Africa to S Japan, Australia and New Caledonia.
