Terminal-Phase: With grey-blue “snoup cap”, short stripes on the chin. Initial-Phase: reddish-brown.

Size : 33 cm

Habitat : In lagoons and outreefs, 1-25 m. At slopes and low-lying reef flats with hard ground and scattered coral formations. Produces a mucous cocoon for sleeping. Females often in schools with other species.

Distribution : Red Sea, East Africa to S Japan, Hawaii, and French Polynesia.
