Whitelip Moray

Gymnothorax chilospilus

Lower lip frequently has a white spot near to the angle of the mouth. Body with irregular, loosely banded brown blotches.

Size : 50 cm

Habitat : Prefers upper slope areas of lagoons and outreefs, also in rock reefs, 0.5-45 m. Can often ben seen in a few metres depth.

Distribution : Oman to S Japan and French Polynesia.
