White-eyed Moray

Gymnothorax thyrsoideus

Conspicuous white eyes. Blunt snout.

Size : 66 cm

Habitat : Inhabits sedimented lagoons and shallow coastal reefs, from tidal zones up to 25 m. Frequently met in tidal basins as well as on sandy to muddy slopes. Live is pairs or in small groups in burrows, also associated with other moray eel species.

Distribution : Sumatra and Christmas Islands to SW Japan and French Polynesia.
