Masked Moray

Gymnothorax breedeni

Large dark spot under the eyes.

Size : 120 cm

Habitat : Along clear, current-rich outreefs, 425 m. Often in narrow crevices on coral rock, with only its head protruding. Can be aggressive and rapidly bit upon an intrusive approach.

Distribution : East Africa, the Maldives, Seychelles, Christmas Islands to Solomons, Line Islands and French Polynesia.
