Laced Moray

Gymnothorax favagineus

White with tightly-spaced black blotches; the white between spaces can be so narrow that they appear as a net pattern.

Size : 220 cm

Habitat : Inhabits lagoons and outreefs, 1-50 m. Not shy, and allows divers to come very close. Active day and night. Even during the day, it can often be observed lying or swimming completely in the open.

Distribution : East Africa, Southern Red Sea and Oman to Taiwan, GBR and Samoa.
