Giant Trevally

Caranx ignobilis

Steep brow, small black spot ant the pectoral fin base. Often with several short light back stripes.

Size : 170 cm

Habitat : Usually along outer reef slopes, also in lagoons, 5-80 m. Usually alone, occasionally also in small groups. Shy and a relatively rare species in the majority of regions. Feeds on fish and crustaceans.

Distribution : Red Sea, East Africa to SW Japan, Panama and French Polynesia.
