Dwarf Hawkfish

Cirrhitichthys falco

Two reddish diagonal stripes below the eye.

Size : 7 cm

Habitat : Reefs with medium-sized and rich coral growth, often at out reefs, however also in protected bays, 3-46 m. Squats on hard grounds on quite diverse growths, typically at the base of small coral or rock formations, also on small sand patches in front of such formations.

Distribution : The Maldives to S Japan, Caroline Islands/Micronesia, Fiji and Samoa.
