Giant Sweetlips

Plectorhinchus albovittatus

Ventral fins are black, sometimes also anal and pectoral fins. Back and caudal fin with black edges.

Size : 100 cm

Habitat : Inhabits deep lagoons and out reefs, 2-50 m. Largest species among the sweetlips. Can usually be seen during the day above rocky areas or rubble-sand ground, swimming leisurely or floating quietly suspended at one spot.

Distribution : Red Sea and East Africa to SW Japan, Fiji and New Caledonia.
