Slender Grouper

Anyperodon leucogrammicus

Slim, usually greenish body with red spot. Often some pale horizontal stripes.

Size : 52 cm

Habitat : In lagoons and out reefs with rich coral growth, 2-50 m. Usually remains in shelters. Feeds on fish. Juveniles imitate horizontal striped Halichoeres wrasse in order to approach closer to their prey.

Distribution : Red Sea and East Africa to SW Japan, Micronesia, Samoa and GBR.
