Cephalopholis sexmaculata

6-7 saddle patches, turning into bright bands.

Size : 50 cm

Habitat : In cavities at out reef slopes, 5-150 m. Shy. Almost always in their shelters, hard to observe in the open. Abdomen always faces the seabed, also at caves, roofs and walls.

Distribution : Red Sea, East Africa to SW Japan and French Polynesia
