Epinephelus polyphekadion

Black saddle spot on the tail stalk. Some irregular light patches and numerous small dots. The latter are often missing on the head upper side.

Size : 75 cm

Habitat : Ingabits coral-rich lagoons and out reefs, 1-45 m. Often in the vicinity of shelters such as cavities. Not shy. Predominantly feeds on small fish and crustaceans.

Distribution : Red Sea, East Africa to Mauritius, SW Japan and French Polynesia.
