Steinitz’s Shrimpgoby

Amblyeleotris steinitzi

Whitish with five brown stripes. Tiny yellow dots on the dorsal fin.

Size : 8 cm

Habitat : Inhabits sandy areas in lagoons and outreefs, 6-30 m. Common in some places, but shy. Lives in symbiosis with various Alpheus snapping rock-boring shrimp.

Distribution : Red Sea and East Africa to SW Japan, Micronesia, GBR and Samoa.
