Mud-reef Goby

Exyrias belissimus

Diffuse broad side bands, partially merged. High dorsal fin with markings.

Size : 13 cm

Habitat : Prefers fine sandy or muddy grounds in turbid bays, coastal and lagoons reefs, 1-20 m. Not shy. Takes fine sediment into its mouth and sifts for small invertebrates.

Distribution : Red Sea and East Africa to SW Japan, Micronesia, GBR and Samoa.
