Gorgeous Shrimpgoby

Amblyeleotris wheeleri

Six broad, red to brown-red bands, interstices light to yellowish with pale blue spots.

Size : 10 cm

Habitat : Inhabits fine to coarse sandy grounds in clear lagoons and outer reef slopes, 3-30 m. Common in some places. Lives along with snapping shrimp (Alpheus djeddensis or A. ochrostiatus).

Distribution : Red Sea and East Africa to SW Japan, Marshall Islands, GBR and Fiji.
