Broad-banded Shrimpgoby

Amblyeleotris periophthalmus

Five to six orange-brown to dark orange bands. Interstices with same colour speckles. Dark-edged, orange dots on the head.

Size : 10 cm

Habitat : Inhabits sand and rubble grounds of lagoons and outer reef slopes, 3-30 m. Lives along with various snapping shrimp, often with Apheus ochrostriatus.

Distribution : East Africa to SW Japan, Micronesia, GBR and Samoa.
