Two reddish-brown horizontal stripes. Large black spot on the first dorsal fin.

Size : 15, max.20 cm

Habitat : On fine sand to gravel ground, 3-40 m. Usually in pairs. Digs a burrow into the sand with its mouth.

Distribution : Red Sea and East Africa to SW Japan, Palau and Marquesas in French Polynesia.
