Yellowfin Goatfish

Mulloidichthys vanicolensis

Yellow back, yellow horizontal stripe from the eye to tail base, yellow fin.

Size : 38 cm

Habitat : In lagoons and out reefs, 1-50 m. Common and not shy. Often floats during the day in large congregations at reef slopes and large coral formations. At night goes alone in search of food, feeds on invertebrate bottom-dwellers.

Distribution : Red Sea and East Africa to S Japan, Hawaii and Easter Islands.
