Giant Frogfish

Antennarius commerson

The largest species. Very variable in colour, often adapted to its environment. A few knot-like protrusions. Can show crusty blotches.

Size : 36 cm

Habitat : In lagoons and outreefs, 1-70 m. Frequently in sponges. Usually alone, occasionally also in pairs.

Distribution : Red Sea and East Africa to SW Japan, Hawaii, Central America.
