Blackheaded Filefish

Pervagor melanocephalus

Dark brown to blueish-black head, remainder of body is orange.

Size : 10 cm

Habitat : Prefers clear, coral-rich, protected outreefs, 5-40 m. Alone or in pairs. Shy, always remains near shelters.

Distribution : Andaman Islands and Sumatra to SW Japan, Marshall Islands, Fiji and Tonga.
